1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, halved or quartered
1 can (14 1⁄2 ounces) reduced-sodium fat-free chicken broth
1 cup each: onion wedges, sliced carrots, celery
2 cloves garlic, minced
16 whole cloves, tied in a cheesecloth bag
2 bay leaves
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
1–2 teaspoons lemon juice
Salt and pepper, to taste
12 ounces fettuccine, cooked, warm

1. Combine all ingredients, except cornstarch, water, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and pasta, in crockpot; cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours. Turn heat to high and cook 10 minutes; stir in combined cornstarch and water, stirring 2 to 3 minutes. Discard cloves and bay leaves; season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve over fettuccine.
