2 cups each: water, diced peeled potatoes
1 cup chopped celery
1⁄2 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
1⁄2 teaspoon paprika
1⁄4 teaspoon ground allspice
2 cups 2% reduced-fat milk, divided
1 pound skinless cod fillets, sliced
1 cup seeded chopped cucumber
2 tablespoons each: cornstarch, lemon juice
Salt and pepper, to taste
Hard-cooked egg slices, as garnish

1. Combine water, potatoes, celery, onion, dill weed, paprika, and allspice in 6-quart crockpot; cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours, stirring in 1 1/2 cups milk during last 30 minutes. Stir in cod and cucumber; cover and cook on high 10 minutes. Stir in combined remaining 1/2 cup milk and cornstarch, stirring 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in lemon juice; season to taste with salt and pepper. Garnish bowls of soup with egg slices.

1 can (14 1⁄2 ounces) Italian plum tomatoes, undrained, chopped
1⁄3 cup catsup
2 small smoked pork hocks
3 1⁄4 cups peeled cubed potatoes
1 cup each: chopped onion, celery, carrots
1⁄2 cup chopped green bell pepper
2 1⁄2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 large bay leaves
1⁄2–3⁄4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1 teaspoon curry powder
1 pound lean fish fillets (whitefish, flounder, haddock, cod), cubed (1-inch)
Salt and pepper, to taste
